Getting Started
Already have an NEIU RefWorks account? Log in now. Otherwise, sign up for an individual account through the NEIU Library's subscription.
RefWorks offers a series of online tutorials to get you started. You may also print out the Quick Start Guide (PDF) to view an overview of the product.
Adding Citations
RefWorks allows you to import citations directly from most of the Library's subscription databases. For more information, read Importing From Online Data Vendors.
Occasionally, you may want to build a RefWorks collection from a paper bibliography. In that case you will want to review Adding References Manually.
Citing References in Your Paper
The free Write-N-Cite utility is available for both Windows and Mac users. The plug-in will automatically insert citations from your RefWorks database as you type a paper in Microsoft Word.
Download the Write-N-Cite utility by first logging into RefWorks then choosing Tools --> Write-N-Cite in the gray menu bar. Detailed instructions are provided there.
Using RefWorks and Write-N-Cite Off Campus
To access RefWorks from off campus, you will need your NEIU NetID and password.
