RefWorks is an online tool that can help you manage your citations and build bibliographies. It is free to NEIU students, faculty, and staff; accessible from any computer with Internet access; and able to insert citations directly into your Microsoft Word paper with Write-N-Cite (WNC)

Already have an NEIU RefWorks account? Log in now. Otherwise, sign up for an individual account through the NEIU Library's subscription.
RefWorks offers a series of online tutorials to get you started. You may also print out our Quick Start Guide (PDF) to view an overview of the product.
RefWorks allows you to import citations directly from most of the Library's subscription databases. For more information, read Importing From Online Data Vendors.
Occasionally, you may want to build a RefWorks collection from a paper bibliography. In that case you will want to review Adding References Manually.
The free Write-N-Cite plug-in is available for both Windows and Mac users. The plug-in will automatically insert citations from your RefWorks database as you type a paper in Microsoft Word.
Detailed instructions for using the plug-in are available from RefWorks at Working with Write-N-Cite for Windows III or Working with Write-N-Cite for Mac v.2.5.
To access RefWorks from off campus, you will need your NEIU NetID and password.
